Search Configuration
EonicWeb contains two different types of search.
Content Search & Index Search
The Content Search, searches the database for text within a specific content type such as a Product or a News Article.
The Index Search requires a little more configuration, this searches all of the content on all of the pages within the site and returns results from everything.
Setting Up a Content Search
Step 1
Ensure your support contract covers the search facility, if you have access to the web.config file, then change the search config value to on.
This cannot be done within the CMS, so you may need to contact support.
Step 2
Create a page within the CMS to list the search results.
This could also be an advanced search page with a form with more specific search features in the form.
Within the site "Often the 'Information' header menu" create a page called Search, you may or may not want to hide this from the navigation.
Step 3
Add the Search Module to the Search page, selecting the "Content Search" option and selecting the type of content you want to be searching.
Step 4
Adding a search box to other pages and in the header / footer.
Add a search module as usual, but in the link at the bottom select the search results page created in step 2.
If you want just the icon in the button enter "_" underscore into the button text field.
