Responsive design using Bootstrap 5 and Leaner Style Sheets (SASS)
We've recently overhauled the entire templating system to use Bootstrap 5, both for the admin back-end and the customer front-end templates. SASS is also built into the platform and processes the server end, so no need for client-side SASS processing.
Great base theme to use as a starting point
Our base site theme is extremely configurable and easy to style, you can also easily copy this to form the basis of your own completely bespoke design. We aim to create a marketplace for off the shelf designs in the near future
Powerful and easy templating in Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSLT)
XSLT is, quite simply, the most powerful language for manipulating HTML. It's also very intuitive and easy to learn. proteanCMS has used XSLT since its inception in 2002 and is fundamental to the architecture, whereas other CMS platforms use it as an incidental 'nice to have'.

No need to learn .Net
You can if you want, but we've done the heavy lifting for you. For the vast majority of requirements, it's a simple job of configuration and manipulation of XSLT templates.
Easily create new types of content and relationships between it
Simply placing an XML file in the right directory defines the behaviour of a form and you deliver a new type of content to your site to be laid out with your own XSLT templates. We use the W3C standard called Xforms, which provides extremely rich and flexible form functionality.
